apartment hunting is not for the faint of heart
First of all, what a crappy blogger I am . Really? Not since February?
It certainly isn't for a lack of adventure... maybe it is finding the right things to share. Maybe it is because I wonder if anyone reads this and why they would? Or wait, why don't more people read it? Oy. That could be it.
Anyway, I've been looking for a new apartment and it is arduous. No, it is strenuous. No, let's see... its just a pain in the ass.
So, I decided that I wanted some outside space. A little patch of something where I could sit with a cup of coffee on a crisp morning. Or possible chill out one evening with a glass something looking at the little flowers I will a have planted to share the space with me. Even if there was just one little petunia or possibly a snapdragon to keep me company, I would be happy. Doesn't seem like too much to ask, right?
Well it is. It is too much to ask if you're on a budget which I am and will explain that in a different blog and I promise it won't take months. So I have this wish list. I want some outside space. Just a little patch of concrete to call my own.
And you know, I really would like to have a washer and dryer inside the apartment. Or at least not down a flight of seriously scary steps that could be fatal each and every time I felt the need for clean clothes. I looked at one place where I was literally too scared to go downs to the basement. Let's assume I got over my phobia, I would need a rope and pulley system to get my laundry up and down since I would need both hands to hand on for survival.
Okay, so now I have two things on my list.I'm not picky. Oh wait, I don't want my couch in my kitchen. Literally saw that yesterday. The "living" room wasn't big enough for the couch, so it was in the kitchen. And let me assure you, the kitchen wasn't big enough for a couch. Decent outside space though Bathroom was bigger than the living room.
Okay, so now I want outside space, W/D and a living room big enough, to uh, live in.
Another one I looked at had a really cool patio with a huge tree that easily must have been a hundred years or older. The trunk and root of the tree in the corner of the patio was the best thing about the apartment. Seriously.
Tonight, I looked at one in a really great neighborhood. I would love to live there. The good news about he apartment was that is was efficient. I honestly think I could cook dinner and pee at the same time. Multitasking, right? It had beautiful old pine floors. The fact that I don't think even half my furniture would fit, well...it turns out I am picky.
Outside space AND a decent living space, is that really too much ask for. I'm holding out. At least for now.I may cave as time ticks by.Maybe a living room is too much to ask for. Only time will tell.
The search continues. If you know of anything, send word. I don't need much.
