Morning becomes who?

I can't say as I see the attraction to mornings. Oh, yeah, sure its quiet and the world around you is just starting to move and get going. Sure, its smells a little different -- fresher, a new beginning. And yeah, the sun makes pretty colors in the sky. I get that you get a jump on the day and can get so much more done. But other than all that... besides ALL THAT, I just think mornings are overrated.

The warm call of the bed, covers all scrunched around you. Tperfect dip in the pillow you've made from a night of nestling your head in just the right spot. That slow, growing awareness as you wake up naturally, not from the blare of some artificial foghorn specifically designed to wrench you out of sleep. Especially those nights when you haven't slept very well. The best sleep, and only, sleep seems to come in those early morning hours. You stretch your arms, your legs. Mmmm.

There are those destined to be morning people. Early risers, eager to face the day with a renewed verve. You know who you are. Some of you have learned to be quiet and experience your early morning joy without the rest of us. Others of you are still on the campaign to turn us around. Good luck. As long as my bed is as comfortable as it is, put me on the side of the sleepers.

But what has inspired this rant? Up early I am. Its another beautiful day here in paradise. Actually starting to get warm. Damn, those people promised me summer wouldn't come for another month or two. Oh well. Today, I'm off to Reno NV to publicly talk about our new clinic for the first time. I'm a bit anxious but know it will be fine once I get there and learn the lay of the land. As one friend said, I've mastered bus conventions for god's sake, I can take on a bunch of scientists and doctors. But will they let me sleep in, that's the question.
